**Teacher-Appreciated Tools**

It’s one thing to look at stats—but what are educators like you saying about Teach Britannica’s awesome resources?

>

I absolutely love the [Letter Roll Review](https://teachbritannica.com/bell-ringer/letter-roll-review/)—a quick and engaging activity that can be done at the beginning of a class period or at the end of a lesson. It's a low-stakes, high-outcome activity that helps students process their understanding of a concept by accessing their existing vocabulary…or by using key words and terms that relate specifically to the lesson.

Students love engaging in a [Sketch and Share](https://teachbritannica.com/bell-ringer/sketch-and-share/) activity, which is accessible to learners of all abilities. Not only do they love to draw their understandings, but they're always up to chat about their illustrations with their classmates. This activity allows each student to engage with the content, share their knowledge, and feel successful—and it's a great way for teachers to check for student understanding.

**Peter Gouveia, Grade 7 ELA Teacher**

A favorite bell ringer of my students (and me) is the [Check-In Survey](https://teachbritannica.com/bell-ringer/check-in-survey/). I use it to quickly take the pulse of the room as students enter, giving insight into their mood and readiness for the upcoming lesson. Its simplicity makes it easy to implement in multiple formats (paper, visual, or verbal), and it works well across different age groups and settings. It’s a reliable way to build awareness of students’ social-emotional state while starting class with intention. It also works well as a visual check-in that students can point to as they enter the room.
