Starting this week, Britannica is saluting top-notch principals across the country for National Principals Month (#ThankAPrincipal).

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and the American Federation of School Administrators (AFSA) have designated October as National Principals Month to honor principals nationwide for their determined efforts to establish positive learning environments and to provide quality education to our nation’s youth. We’re happy to say that National Principals Month is widely recognized in schools and communities around the U.S. and is marked by national and state resolutions supporting the event, as well as acknowledgements from the U.S. Senate.

In honor of October’s National Principals Month, we would like to take a moment to thank all of the amazing principals that we know. You are ensuring that your students are receiving the best education possible. We know how much dedication and hard work that takes!

On October 12 and 13 in Washington, D.C., the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) is honoring outstanding elementary and middle-level administrators. The National Distinguished Principals program awards principals from across the nation (in both private and public schools) for their exemplary achievements in ensuring that America’s children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning. According to NAESP…

The National Distinguished Principals program was established in 1984 to recognize and celebrate elementary and middle-level principals who set high standards for instruction, student achievement, character, and climate for the students, families, and staffs in their learning communities.

Britannica Digital Learning is partnering with the NAESP to congratulate the 2017 Class of National Distinguished Principals with free access to two of our newest digital products—LaunchPacks Science and LaunchPacks Social Studies —for their entire school (2017-18 school year). These are essential classroom tools that are propelling teachers and students into more engaging, dynamic lessons. We know their schools love them as much as we do!

We would like to extend our congratulations to ALL of the wonderful principals we know. If you are interested in taking a free trial, please visit LaunchPacks: Science or LaunchPacks: Social Studies today.
