What’s Our Take on E-Publishing?

What’s Our Take on E-Publishing?

While e-books have become an exciting learning medium for students, they also pose one of the greatest challenges school libraries have experienced in many years. Readers of all ages can access a plethora of content to suit their interests and needs using laptops, smartphones, and tablets—a boon for cultivating motivated and knowledge-seeking students. Yet, with so many platforms and acquisition models to choose from, today’s librarians may feel that that they need an advanced degree in digital what-not in order to make sense of it all.

Many educational publishers are feeling the world shift under their “feet” too, although some are further along than others in changing their business strategies to address the e-resources that their customers are looking for.

For example, Britannica Digital Learning has been recognized as one of the pioneers in e-publishing for the school and library markets for the past twenty years. Michael Ross, Senior Vice President at Britannica, has led the company’s successful transition from print to e-publishing and will contribute his insights on this topic during the upcoming Ed Table Talk with Michael Jay, an internet-based talk show exploring timely and often controversial topics in the PreK-12 education industry. “Book ‘em Danno: Digital Publishing and E-book Readers” will take place on Tuesday, August 18th, 2015 at 11amPT/2pmET.

We encourage our school and library colleagues to listen in live. If you can’t make it for the live broadcast, the show will be archived here.
