Britannica Announces a Partnership With TexQuest to Empower Students With 3.5 Million Images

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Chicago, IL—Britannica Education, (britannicaeducation.com), a global knowledge leader of reliable, award-winning reference and curriculum solutions, announced today a continued partnership with TexQuest to provide school districts across Texas with the best and broadest offering of rights-cleared and curriculum-relevant imagery. This partnership aims to give teachers, students, and patrons instant access to the Britannica ImageQuest online library of safe, legal, and diverse digital media and to support teaching, content creation, and engagement.

Highlights of Britannica ImageQuest include:

  • Safe images from leading collections—access 3.5 million rights-cleared images from 64 leading collections such as Getty Images, Chicago History Museum, The Bridgeman Art Gallery, and the Natural History Museum.
  • Copyright Clearance—provide images licensed for use on school websites, classroom presentations, and social media. Credits and citations for each image teach the importance of attribution and permissions and help protect school districts against claims of copyright infringement.
  • Visual Projects & Lessons—bring lessons, assignments, and projects to life with the best and broadest digital art materials (symbols, educational illustrations, infographics, flags, and conceptual illustrations) not freely available on the Web.
  • Culturally Inclusive Media—support culturally inclusive teaching practices through hundreds of thousands of diverse, cross-cultural images of people, events, traditions, places, foods, histories, and more.

With this recent announcement, Britannica’s Vice President Rick Booms said, “In today’s digital age, visual content has exploded in popularity and is heavily ingrained in our day-to-day lives. As 65 percent of the population are visual learners, imagery is key to engaging students. We’re excited to partner with Texas education leaders to put ImageQuest to immediate classroom use with high-impact visual lessons and ready-to-use projects that build engagement and facilitate critical-skill development.”
