Earlier this month, the company opened headquarters in New Delhi with a ceremony in which more than 150 of India’s most influential educators from premier institutions attended. The office houses both business operations and an editorial team, which will help to expand the encyclopedia’s coverage of India. The company will be introducing its products to the Indian market shortly. Britannica’s key offerings include BELLS, acronym for Britannica Education Learning & Library Solutions with Britannica School, Image Quest, Expedition Learn, Launch Packs, Britannica Library and Britannica Professional Learning as their key offerings, and Britannica Connect – Global Community for Collaborative Learning (GCCL). All of them aim to foster essential 21st century skills, digital literacy, and life skills to ensure that tools for the holistic development of learners are available to schools and libraries in India. “The paradigm in Indian education has moved from rote-based learning to skill-based learning,” said Sal De Spirito, executive vice president, Britannica Education. “Britannica’s arrival is perfectly timed to support the vision of National Education Policy with respect to digital literacy, foundational literacy and numeracy and 21st-century skills.” **About Britannica Education** Founded in 1768, Encyclopaedia Britannica is one of the most respected sources of knowledge worldwide.
