## How to Create Student-Friendly Summaries with *Summarize* It

Summarize It turns trusted Britannica content into customizable paragraph summaries, bullet points, and tables that support reading comprehension, review, discussion, intervention, and differentiated learning.

**1. Customize Your Summary**

Select the **grade level** and your preferred output format:

- **Paragraph:** presents the summary as a written passage

- **Bullets:** lists the main points concisely

- **Table:** organizes information into rows and columns for easy comparison

**2. Add Your Content**

Choose your source content. Select **Your Text** to paste your own material or **Britannica** to draw from Britannica’s trusted knowledge base.

If you use Britannica, enter a **topic or brief description** of what you want summarized. 

When you’re ready, click **Generate**.

Use** Suggested Topics** to include related ideas and further refine the focus of your summary!

**3. Review Your Results**

Review your generated summary on the output page. Your results include a **Summary** tab, an **Images** tab where you can select an image to add to your exported summary, and a **Sources** tab with the Britannica references used when Britannica is selected as your source.

Need another version? Click **Regenerate** to create a new version using the same inputs, or adjust your grade level, format, or content and click **Generate** again. Use the arrows in the left panel to navigate between generated versions.

**4. Customize Your Summary**

Click **Edit** to make changes or add formatting to your summary. If you’ve generated multiple versions, each can be edited independently.

**5. Export**

When you’re finished, click **Export** to save the version you’re viewing for classroom use.
