Educational institutions typically subscribe to Britannica products on an annual basis. Pricing is based on student enrollment or, for public libraries, population served.

Buyers may receive discounts for purchasing products for multiple schools or libraries and for purchasing multiple products together.

All subscription purchases provide access to all users within your institution—both on-site and remotely. Annual subscriptions also include full access to product updates made throughout the year.

Authentication and Cookies
Once logged in, students shouldn’t be prompted to log in again. If repeated login requests occur, cookies may have been deleted. For schools with individual network accounts, we recommend configuring network profiles to share cookies between accounts.

Yes! Did you know that 19 U.S. states have Britannica Regional Partnerships? These states—Alabama, California, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Wisconsin, and Wyoming—provide statewide access to Britannica products for all schools.

Britannica complies with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances applicable to our Digital Products and consistent with contract terms and conditions, including COPPA, FERPA, PPRA, and IDEA. A copy of our privacy policy for our institutional subscribers (those subscribing through schools, libraries, academic institutions) can be found here.

Requests for data privacy agreements can be submitted to our customer support team at edsupport@eb.com. If your school will accept a form of NDPA with Exhibit E, this team can attempt to match you with an executed copy from your state to piggyback.

Britannica has a documented Security Program in place, including related security policies and procedures. We annually complete a SOC 2 Type 2 examination performed by an independent CPA. A copy of our most recently public-facing SOC 3 Type 2 report can be found here. A copy of our confidential SOC 2 Type 2 report can be provided with a fully executed NDA and may be requested by contacting our customer support team at edsupport@eb.com.
