Social Emotional Learning and Mental Health

As the coronavirus crisis continues to be tackled worldwide and remains a popular topic of conversation, uncertainty about what’s next creates a perfect storm for fueling anxiety.  There is much anxiety that surrounds students, including fear of the unknown, loss of a loved one, loss of social connections, social anxiety and gaps in learning.

While our anxious feelings are understandable, it’s important to be aware of how anxiety is impacting our children. Knowing how to respond to anxious feelings will help keep students calm and safe.

To help teach students about mental health, Britannica’s Curriculum Expert Team has put together a few activities and resources.

Download the Raising Resilient Kids E-book

Inside the e-book, you’ll find two sets of lesson slides and supporting resources, as well as additional activities that promote mental health through social and emotional learning.
