CHICAGO, September 14, 2022 – For the second time, Britannica Education has been recognized as a leader in the crowded field of educational technology. LearnPlatform, an independent research firm focused on digital learning, has released its Fall 2022 EdTech Top 40 report, which ranks the online tools accessed by the most students and educators across the United States, and Britannica is again on the list.
Britannica’s repeat appearance in the rankings solidifies its presence as a leader in the edtech space. Moreover, its rapid rise in the rankings (up 7 spots since the 2021-22 Midyear Report) underscores the importance of reliable, vetted and trusted resources in the burgeoning edtech age. Britannica’s ever-growing and constantly reviewed library of offerings of fact-checked articles, videos, images, infographics and biographies are an age-appropriate resource for inquiry-based learning and research projects.
”We are thrilled and honored by this acknowledgement of Britannica’s mission of inspiring curiosity and empowering teachers and students with reliable, accessible and timely content,” said Britannica’s senior vice president, Sal DeSpirito. “This recognition is especially exciting as we have just launched Britannica Expedition: Learn!, a classroom solution for science and social studies with embedded assessment while building literacy skills such as reading comprehension and vocabulary.”
The EdTech Top 40 Report is based on a vast U.S.-based sample size that includes 330k+ educators, 2.9m+ students, 8k+ schools surveyed between August 1, 2021 and May 31, 2022. Taken together, a total of 56 billion interactions are evaluated for their level of engagement in K-12 classrooms across the country.
